Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

Yes, this is banana cake not banana bread. Not quite sure of the difference- seems a bit lighter than banana bread. This recipe can be altered a million different ways...I went with a single layer cake with bittersweet chocolate chips and a bit of coconut.
Good for dessert or leftovers for breakfast. Or if you had a boat, you could eat this cake on a boat. I don't have a boat. If I did, I would have banana cake boating weekends all the time.

Kimberly of Only Creative Opportunities takes lovely pictures and has this week's recipe.

oh how fun that looks! I live in a lake town and used to have a boat, now I just watch everyone else :-/ This was my farewell post with TWD after almost two years of baking along. Hope you'll stop by and say goodbye!

Chocolate is always good. I live in a land locked state. But our mountains are beautiful!

Oooo a banana cake boating weekend! I would do that if I had a boat!!

Seeing all of the chocolate chip additions, I will definitely do that next time.

Hooray for a boating weekend. It sounds like an elegant way to eat cake.

I was very tempted to add chocolate chips too but I left them out so I could justify eating the muffins for breakfast. I wish I had a boat, especially given that I live on the coast. Oh well, someday maybe - if I hit the lottery :)
