Yep, this is a scary cookie. They bake up incredibly thin and you have to quickly get them off the pan in one pieces and drape them to create a curve. One of mine had the right effect. The rest were crazy. I had tuiles doing battle on the plate:
It was a short battle. Tuiles are very fragile. It is kind of a fun recipe though, even if they don't come out perfect. The challenge of them is fun. I'm planning monday night pats v. jets (boo jets) with tuiles and egg nog ice cream. Pats, tuiles, and egg nog ice cream. Those things all go together perfectly in my mind.
Hindy of Bubie’s Little Baker has the recipe here.

I think they look great! They would be good with eggnog ice cream !
I enjoyed this recipe!
Eggnog ice cream?! YUM! Beautiful tuiles, too! :)
How awesome was the Pats game last night?? I was watching, but without tuiles as mine never really set up properly and just weren't very tasty. The eggnog ice cream sounds delicious!
Great minds think alike - or telepathy! Just made egg nog ice cream yesterday! Hm.... yes, a challenge to be sure, timing was the key (and sometimes not). But they look wonderful - no matter how perfect!
wow yours are simply perfect! they look crisp and wonderfully golden brown.

These tuiles are beautiful -how did you get them to be so lacy!
I know, the messed up ones taste just like the perfect ones. Yours look terrific!
You got some good ones there. I don't like failure, so I know I'll try these again sometime.
Yours are lovely! And they didn't end up being very scary. It was "boo Jets!" at my house as well. (Hubs grew up in Boston)
why do i bet these were fab with eggnog ice cream? and the pats won, so it all sounds perfect!
Egg nog ice cream sounds like a perfect accompaniment to these beauties.
